DONE!

I quilted last night and bound this this morning. I definitely could get one of these made from 4 or 6 fabrics done in less than a day. Total time spent on this was less than 8 hours, and i even tried a faux piped binding technique which I had never done before. I found the tutorial here . The white “piping” added a great touch to the quilt and it really was as simple as the tutorial makes it sound. I’ll be doing more piped bindings in the future!The freehand Baptist fans quilting shows up much better on the back of the quilt than the front.

  1. I've been planning to try that "piped" binding trick, too. The white piping is great … and I love the baptist fans (FYI, I have a template for "Bishop's Fans" that I plan to use on my sampler quilt of the 10" lotto blocks from 2005-2006. As usual, I think we have that scorpio sister thing going on …
