Dud Winnings Quilt

December 31, 2013… yes I know it’s been a while ago, but I finally used all but two of the dud orphan blocks that I won back then.  I put most of them in the back of my Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt called Celtic Solstice.  It was a mystery she started the day after Thanksgiving (Black Friday), 2013.  I saved the beautiful red cabin block and a basket block for two other projects.  But here’s the back of my Celtic Solstice with all those wonderful duds!

Look, birds!

I see maple leaves, zig zags, a sailboat, stars, bars, HSTs, that block that has a 9-patch with a cross over it, a little red basket, and my darling friend, Julianne, made some scrappy trips for it.

This quilt is huge and fits our California King bed.  It almost hits the floor on both sides and the bottom.  My husband is soooo happy.  Here’s the front:

You can read more or see more pictures about this quilt in my blog post http://new2quilting.blogspot.com/2017/03/celtic-solstice-2013-bonnie-hunter.html
