One Reeds Block made

I’ve made one block so far, but wanted to post it in case I don’t have time to make any more, I think Sophie said we need 131 for the planned number of winners, which I’m hoping is this one? Anyway here it is, using home dyed lime and home dyed black.  It’s quite sad how much of a sense of achievement I feel for this one!

And for a laugh, here is the first attempt at getting the half reed attached, a perfect mitre! Not what I was after….

  1. It doesn't look square but it is, I've checked. Several times!

  2. Not sad at all, it's a great block and given that you started out by dyeing the colours, it's a big accomplishment.

I've added your block to the list and you're right. Your block means we now have enough for 3 winners: the first two names picked will receive a set of 48 blocks and the third name will receive at least 35 blocks.

  3. I'm laughing at your miter–maybe the secret to a good miter is to pretend you are making a reed!

  4. Just noticed your post – what a hoot on the mitered reed! I've been working on the wonky flying geese and have had to rip out and start a few times. At least with this block I can just add on more fabric until I have enough in the right places! : )
