This month we are making this 6-by-9 inch (finished size) Oak Leaf block using batik fabrics of your choice for the leaf and stem and cream or tan tone-on-tone (TOT) prints for the background.

Cathie L make this one.

The block pattern directions are here:

Oak Leaf Block Pattern

The block pattern has been updated since it was sent out as part of the sneak peek and contains a bonus pattern for a scrappy version of this block.  The file is quite large (be patient) because of the extra material and lots of photos.

As usual, you may make up to a maximum of 9 blocks for chances in the drawing at the end of the month.  As always, if you like, you can make more and donate them to the pot. If you make multiple blocks, you may use the same cream/tan background fabric in all your blocks, but each must be made with a unique batik leaf fabric.

 Tags

Add the tag Oak Leaf to all your blog posts about this block. The category should be blocks when you are posting photos of your blocks to enter them in the drawing; use the category sent and received when you are posting about mailing or receiving blocks; and the category show and tell to share projects you make from this block (whether they are lotto blocks or blocks you make for yourself.

The Virtual Quilt

  1. These look great. Hope to give them a go

  2. Does the cream or tan tone-on-tone have to be a batik?
