July Block Instructions: Red Forest

Hello.  I am Deana and your July Block Lotto hostess.  I have been quilting for over 20 years and enjoy creating my own designs.  You can find me at dreamworthyquilts.blogspot.com.

Many years ago I was in a quilt shop and fell in love with a red forest quilt on the wall.  I took a picture and hoped one day I would make it.  I have decided to do that quilt for July’s Block Lotto.  It is a very simple block, and you will make them in sets of three blocks.  We will be making them in the exact color scheme of the quilt I saw on the wall.

Fabrics:  1 red, 1 cream, 1 black or dark grey – an 8″ square of each

NO Solid fabrics – use a print for texture.

  • You can make a maximum of 9 blocks in July.
  • Please add the tag red forest to your posts
  • If you make more than one set of blocks (3 per set), you can use the same fabric in more than one set IF you don’t repeat two fabrics from another set. Make each block a unique combination of the three fabrics.
  • The blocks finish at 6″ square.

Please find the link to the full instructions below.

Enjoy!
