Blocks from distant lands

Blocks arrived last week from Dagmar (Germany) and Karen (South Africa) – they are lovely, thank you. I’m still waiting for a few stragglers, but most have arrived. I’m thinking about how I will use them – no one idea has stuck yet.

More sun arriving in New Zealand

This week I’ve received blocks from Charlene (thanks for the lizard fabric and the fun note), Laura, Margaret, and Sophie. Still expecting a few more (some coming a very long way) but so far they are looking so bright and cheery. I’m starting to think about what to do with them – there’s the obvious choice with them paired up into full suns, but I am starting to imagine a big sunny center medallion with the 1/2 suns as a...

Full details of the quilt and a few progress posts can be seen...

one sun (so far)

one sun (so far)

I gave this beautiful block a go last night. All was well until I tried to sew on the background and it just didn’t seem right. I printed from 2 different PCs and even though I checked the settings to make sure it didn’t re-size the 8-1/2 x 11 to A4, it obviously did. So a new...

April blocks (finally) mailed to Peggy and Maree

Ladies – it took me a while to find envelopes and buy stamps and then realized that I only needed ‘normal’ stamps for Maree’s and had to go back to the post office. They are now on their way: Peggy’s should arrive in 1-2 weeks; Maree’s in 1-2 days.
