Sneak Peek Tonight

I will be finishing up the directions for the November Block–another quick and easy one–and sending them out later today (or possibly first thing tomorrow).

If you want to start getting fabrics together … we’ll be making a 7 inch block from two fabrics in a color way we’ve used in the past:

BACKGROUND – Black solids or black-on-black prints or VERY DARK fabrics in other colors.

JEWEL TONES – color-saturated, rich colors based on gems like rubies, emeralds, and saphires. I think of jewel tones as having a little more richness and depth than “brights,” another category that looks great with black and with which they can overlap. (But don’t over think it as much as I obviously have . . . if you’re thinking jewel tone, you’re probably making great fabric choices and all of our blocks will play together wonderfully.) This is a bunch of an old line of fabrics by Patrick Loes that ws called Satinesque.

For an idea of how these blocks will look together, look in the gallery for quilts made from Jeweled Geese and the Liberated Trees.

If you have precuts in these colors that you would like to use, you can probably use jelly rolls and charm squares for the DARK background and charm squares or layer cakes for the JEWEL TONES.
