Cupid’s Arrows will Fly in February

In February, I reveal the second block size we will be making this year: a long 4 1/2 by 18 inch (finished size) rectangle.

I made this one.

Looking forward, in 2015, there will be 8 square 9 inch blocks and 4 long rectangular blocks with these dimensions.

This block offers the opportunity to work with skinny strips, make half-square triangles and use snowball corners to create angular shapes.

The fabric guidelines and directions for making the block are here:

Arrow Block Pattern

Note that you can use any shade of blue for your SKY fabric, but will want to choose an ARROW fabric (black, white or black & white) that will have good contrast.

You may make a maximum of 9 blocks for chances in the drawing at the end of the month. The target set size for the winners will be 48 blocks.

Add the tag arrow to all your blog posts about this block.

The category should be blocks when you are posting photos of your blocks to enter them in the drawing; use the category sent and received when you are posting about mailing or receiving blocks; and the category show and tell to share projects you make from this block (whether they are lotto blocks or blocks you make for yourself.

Sorry – No Virtual Quilt

As some of you are aware, my computer at home has been unusable and, although I did try, I couldn’t manage the logistics of creating virtual blocks from sneak peeker photos to create the virtual quilt this month.

So I decided to go low-tech and pull out the colored pencils and show you one idea for using these blocks.
