If you haven’t (yet) made bird blocks this month and are curious about what’s next … May will be an opportunity to spring clean your stash. The block will have a cream or light tan background (solids or tone-on-tone prints) plus three fabrics of the quilter’s choosing in three values: light, medium and dark. Here’s a set of fabrics I plan to use (with cream) to make my blocks:
If you have problems deciding if something is light, medium or dark, your camera is a great tool. take a photo and then use whatever tool you have to turn it into a black and white image. For example, I see three “lights,” two “mediums” and two “darks” here.
