Another Star is on Its Way

My redirected star block is on it’s way to Julie.

I was also mailing my cotton robin onward to Helen who will be quilting/finishing the little quilt.   I had already stamped the envelope to Julie and had brought it along to the counter, along with the priority envelope with the round robin quilt.  The clerk asked, “did you want me to check the postage on that?”

I was sure the regular postage stamp was enough, but I let her weigh it … when she told me it needed more postage, I didn’t believe it.  “Are you sure?” I asked.  She took it off the scale, reset it and weighed it again.  I noticed that the shoulder strap of my big leather bag had been leaning against the scale.   The second time around, it weighed less than an ounce and the postage on it was correct.

Maybe I have been doing this for too many years …  even though I didn’t weigh it at home, I knew there was no way that single block and a sheet of paper could weigh more than an ounce 😉
