My Blocks for February

Posted by on February 2, 2010 in Uncategorized | 3 comments

I have been in Houston babysitting my grandsons for the past week, so, while I had fabric and sewing machine and got some blocks made I didn’t have a camera. But now I’m back in frozen Oklahoma, land of the ice coated trees. The first block I did is an example of what not to do….do not make 2 rows of words on a single 6″ tall block! I may separate the words and join them into one long block, but the letters are a bit under 3″ tall….we’ll see!BTW, this term of endearment came straight from my state song, OKLAHOMA!

After that I did 3 more blocks, 3 different font styles. I had a lot of fun doing these. I can see using this technique to do a short nursery rhyme or poem for a baby quilt….
I don’t know if I will get anymore blocks done this month. After being away a week I have a lot of catching up to do at home. Mail, bills, taxes….and when the snow melts we have to start working on a garden site.
