It’s never too late …

Sophie's Sampler BlocksIt was one of those times when I SHOULD have been working on something else, but decided to make a set of sampler blocks from last year’s lotto blocks.  I always intended to make a sampler last year, but never got around to it.  It hit me a couple days ago, that I could STILL make last year’s blocks.

The color isn’t great in these photos, but here they are.  The brown fabric behind them is being auditioned.

Having made most of these before, they went together really fast.  I took a little creative license and decided to appliqué down the 3-D flower and leaves and extend the bottom of the School House block and eliminate the strip of ground that was in the original pattern.

If you’re curious, there are photos of the individual blocks on my blog, sophie junction, as well as some background on the method behind my madness of choosing these 12 blocks last year.

  1. I really like the blocks against *both* colors, pretty much the way it’s laid out. I think that would be pretty awesome.

  2. I have a different layout in mind–it’s a little unusual, I’ll have to see if I like it on the design wall, as much as I like it in my head 😉

  3. Wow………..that is sooooooo pretty!!!!!!! I really like your color combinations in your blocks!!!!!
