Blocks mailed for less than $2.15 each

I am pleased to report that Star Chain  blocks are heading to a Karen in South Africa and Dagmar in Germany.

I used a  greeting card envelope that measured 5 3/4″ x 8 3/4″ to mail the blocks.

Taking Sophie’s suggestion, I did not fold them on the seam. They fit perfectly and were very flat.  So much so, that the envelopes fit through the US Postal letter -size mail dimensional template 1/4 inch thickness window easily!

  1. Based on what people are sharing here and in email messages to me, postal rates are all over the map. We won’t be making big blocks like this again until the end of the year … and in future years (assuming there is a lotto), I’m going back to small blocks that mail more easily for everyone.

    • There are many factors that determine the rate. The weight of the fabric, the weight and size of the envelope, if a notes is included, where you live and where it is sent. By the way, I thought I had a pretty good rate with no custom forms. 🙂
