Sweet Dreams and a paper piecing discovery

I found some paper at Wal-Mart that works really well for paper piecing. Carol Doak is the queen of paper piecing. She sells a paper for this technique that is easy to sew on and still easy to tear. I’ve found that the Manila Artist’s Drawing Paper that Wal-Mart sells is very similar to the Carol Doak paper. And it is only $0.99 for a package of 50 sheets! manilla paper

Here are the 2 blocks I’ve made so far with the cheaper paper.

  1. You inspired me to stop at Wal*Mart today to look for some of the paper you are using. The one in Santa Fe didn’t have it, but I found a Crayola branded pad for twice the price-pretty normal here, where everything costs more. It’s still less than going to the only quilt shop in town to buy some packaged for quilters.

    • Well I’m eager to know how you feel it compares to the paper marketed for quilting.
