Sweet Dreams and a paper piecing discovery
I found some paper at Wal-Mart that works really well for paper piecing. Carol Doak is the queen of paper piecing. She sells a paper for this technique that is easy to sew on and still easy to tear. I’ve found that the Manila Artist’s Drawing Paper that Wal-Mart sells is very similar to the Carol Doak paper. And it is only $0.99 for a package of 50 sheets!
Here are the 2 blocks I’ve made so far with the cheaper paper.
You inspired me to stop at Wal*Mart today to look for some of the paper you are using. The one in Santa Fe didn’t have it, but I found a Crayola branded pad for twice the price-pretty normal here, where everything costs more. It’s still less than going to the only quilt shop in town to buy some packaged for quilters.
Well I’m eager to know how you feel it compares to the paper marketed for quilting.
