April blocks flimsy

I’ve used half of the blocks that I won in April to make this. I’d like to make it slightly bigger by adding a border but am a little stuck trying to decide what the border should look like. All of the sashing is made from striped shirting fabric – white background with a charcoal gray pinstripe. I thought about a plaid border or one made up of white and plaid blocks.

Any suggestions?

  1. Grey. Grey border. Maybe a dark grey men’s suiting like plaid, or maybe linen looking grey.

It is beautiful. I really wanted to win those blocks, you are such a lucky girl!

  2. My first thought was 4 different plaids, one for each side.
Then I saw the pink and thought, a pink plaid.
Or a simple tone on tone of your favorite color.
Are the sashings finishing at 1 inch??? I haven’t figured out how wide to cut sashings for my plaid winnings.

  3. I LOVE the striped shirting you used as sashing. I like the idea one ore more plaids as a border … if you have bunches of them stashed away, I’d consider a piano key-style border of lots of scrappy plaids.

  4. Awesome! I love the striped shirting. I like Glen’s idea of grey plaid suiting for the border. Thanks for sharing. It’s cool to be able to see a couple of my blocks on there.
