I need an Intervention!

I have a confession to make. I made a new quilt top. I’m not supposed to as long I’m behind on my 2013 UFO goal, but what the heck? It’s my rule. What happened is this…..Sophie issued the directions for our new Block Lotto for March. The block was simple, it had to incorporate gray and white, and another color of our choice. I was going through my scraps. This particular tub, has pinks, purples and blues. My intent wasn’t to limit my color choices to these colors, but that is what happened. Happenstance? Serendipity? I started making the blocks and liked them so well that I decided, rather than waiting to see if I won the lottery this month,  I would make some blocks for me and also to donate  to Block Lotto.  So here is what I did with the thirty blocks I made myself.  Isn’t that limited palette pretty? You can’t tell but the border is a batik with a gray/taupe dots and subtle shades of the pink, purple and blue in the quilt. I will quilt it, simply, before month end, then it won’t be a UFO, right?OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

  1. It’s a lovely quilt and it’s a great example of how a simple straight set (no sashing) works (really well.)

I updated your post to put it in the “show and tell” category so that it will show up in the Gallery and be featured on the home page. If you want to post again when it’s “done, done”, we can replace this post in the Gallery section.

  2. Right…… will NEVER be on an UFO list !!!

  3. That is a wonderful, serendipitous outcome! You don’t need an intervention at all. =)

  4. You have a lovely quilt top for your “addiction” to fabric challenges. I do understand, I cut, sewed, and ironed all 9 of my blocks last night, and they were fun! I could have continued on myself ~

  5. Sometine simple is best, as this block and your resulting quilt shows. Love it. Kathie L in Allentown

  6. Excellent work. No intervention needed.

  7. Your colors are lovely! I really enjoyed this block too.
