More inspiration for I-Spy neighborhood
This is a quilt from Wendy Vosters’ “Fanciful Quilts to Paper Piece”. This is kind of what I had in mind for a I-Spy play quilt that you could drive matchbox size cars on. I would add trees and some fun places to visit like a park or lake or maybe even an off road RV area with hills you can drive your cars on. I would make it larger than this one so several kids could play at a time. Anyone have any other ideas??? ;o) I’m going to draft something up so I can remember what I’m thinking…(ya might know what it’s like when ya hit the 60 somethings) LOL
You might want to add a school and some stores (just bigger houses). For trees, about 2 years ago, I think in November we did some wonky trees that were easy so you could check the block Patten list . Maybe you could add a zoo or a farm with some I spy animals. On my very first I spy I used some fabric as backing that was a layout of roads, houses, etc, and just the size for matchboxes. I think there are photos on my blog Linda bigD
I love this idea. Using the snowball blocks is so clever. I think adding a few large structures, like Linda suggested, would make it feel more like a town (instead of a neighborhood) and you could add elements like parks, parking lots, gas stations. I can’t wait to see what you end up with …
