Then and Now – Carol’s Asterisk Quilt

Seeing some of the Spokes block on my blog prompted Carol to send me a photo the quilt she made from the liberated variation of this block which she won 4 years ago.

I called that block Fireworks because of our color way that month.  The width of the inserted fabric and the angle of the cuts across the background were each quilter’s choice for a liberated result.  This kind of setting would work well for this month’s blocks, too 🙂
