I mailed two boomers to Margaret in Australia this morning.

  It’s nice to have an excuse to pull out the batiks — the hard part is putting them away again (because I have other projects to work on and I must not get sidetracked). I’ll donate these nine this month....

I have 14 more sailboats in drydock (that is, in the still-full box of blocks). This is 58 x 69. I have a good idea of how I’ll quilt...

Today’s mail brought three ships from Debra in Texas. That makes 39! (The song “Shrimp Boats Are A-Comin'” keeps popping into my head.) Now I need to put ’em up on the design wall and see what happens as I begin working on the commission quilt. I think I want to use Tonya’s Letters (from Word Play quilts) and put the recipient’s name in the border…..

My new iPad made it SO easy to go online during meetings and other events at the ALA Annual Conference this past week. And so it was that I was sitting in a darkened ballroom, having just finished yet another meal with chicken as the entree, listening to the speaker….I sneaked a glance at my email and found out that 30 ships will float my way shortly, to join the 9 ships docked in my studio.
