The older I get, the longer it takes for me to get in the mood for holiday decorating.  The wreath has been hanging on the door for about a week and I bought some frames at a thrift store with an idea how to use them, but aside from that, no decorating has been happening chez moi. It’s Kathy’s fault. When I saw the great photo of her Flying Geese quilt in the snow, I wondered if I could do something similar, given I have no quilt holders nor line on which to hang it. I decided my neighbor’s adobe wall might be interesting. Although the winds have died down considerably, they still managed to blow the heavy flannel quilt around a bit. Here’s the quilt that I made from the Tall Geese blocks that I won in the May 2013, Block Lotto.  Even though the sun wasn’t out when I took this picture,  I love how the colors show up with our 6″ of snow on the ground in Ohio.  I quilted it with a Baptist Fan pattern.  This quilt measures 54″ x 64″.  You can see close-up pictures of the quilting and the back on my blog at http://www.new2quilting.blogspot.com/ ...
