Some Well-Aged Lotto Blocks

Some Well-Aged Lotto Blocks

I just saw these on Michelle’s blog, Quilts ‘n’ Kids ‘n’ Stuff and had to share.  The blocks are some well-aged Hope of Hartford blocks won in the lotto a few years ago . . . I was surprised when I scrolled down the list of blocks in the left sidebar to see just when these 30’s blocks were our lotto blocks. It didn’t seem it was so long ago (February 2006). Click over to her blog to see what else...

Something finished

Something finished

I used my Thrifty block winnings from earlier this year to make this weighted blanket for a niece with disabilities — each block has some poly pellets in it and the weight is supposed to be comforting. There’s a little more information and a link to instructions on my blog —...

Sampler top

Sampler top

Here’s a photo of the quilt top I put together from the blocks I won a couple of months back. I couldn’t think of anything brilliant to do with the blocks, so I went with the traditional sashing method. I think it came out very well and I can’t wait to see it quilted! Thanks for the great blocks,...

October Blocks

October Blocks

Where has this month gone?!?!? Here are 7 blocks for October – not sure I can finish anymore, but I do like the block and resulting pattern. Also attached is the log cabin topper finished from August Blocks. Sophie, since I have won two months in a row, please donate all my chances this month to whom ever you feel needs the extra chances. I still have to work up the oriental topper, not to mention work my day...

Lisa’s Log Cabin Tops

Lisa’s Log Cabin Tops

I made a top for a little girl and one for her dolly!   Now to find a backing that will stand up to the tops! I am going to the library tomorrow after work to see who I am mailing blocks off to. (the man of the house downloaded something that messed up adobe reader and wont let us install anything, or un-install anything or…but antivirus can’t catch it!) Then off to the post office before getting...

Block Lotto Quilt

Block Lotto Quilt

I won the sixteen patch last year. Do you recognize any of your blocks on here? I had a fun time finding something to tie it all together with the blocks. I had to make more for the borders and to fill in, but had a great time doing that. Sophie thinks this is call Chicklet? Does that sound right to any of you out there. I found the pattern somewhere, but can’t remember. Anyway, thanks for all the beautiful blocks! Here’s another...

What I’ve done with my winnings…

What I’ve done with my winnings…

Sophie’s post about finished quilts reminded me that I’m not sure I showed this baby quilt, made with bright cracker blocks I won back in Sept (2008) – this is something of a record for me, as the quilt was finished in early January and sent to my SIL, who had a Christmas baby. The other lotto blocks I have won have taken longer to act on… The photo of a little quilt made from a basket block has been shown here (I...

Scrappy hearts Feb. 2008 Pics

I have named this quilt Hearts and Roses. This was my first attempt at a disappearing 9 patch using the blocks as the cornerstones. I really enjoyed putting this together because of all the hearts from everyone. The photos don’t do it justice. It is gorgeous (if I say so myself ;o) !) I meandered around the blocks and stippled around the hearts. My friend Diana quilted the border with a digital heart pattern . ……..can’t...
