I cannot believe how many months I have missed the lotto.  We had barely recovered from Katy’s wedding when my DFIL was hospitalized in serious condition.  Quick trip from OK to KY….leave Friday, home again Monday…15 hours each way.  He was doing somewhat better when we headed home and left the hospital the next day.  The following Monday he died at home in his own bed as he had desired.  So another trip to KY.  Leave Tuesday,...

I really intended to get some blocks done last month….but time got away from me and life got in the way.  My sewing room has not yet recovered from my daughter’s wedding.  We had to make an unplanned trip to Kentucky, as my FIL was not doing well at all.  He is 87 years old and we thought it might be too late if we waited until our planned trip at the end of this month.  He has improved, but it was good to get in a visit.   Life...

I finished my wedding sewing yesterday (actually wee hours of this morning)  I am really pleased with how the flower girl dress turned out…and after working with taffeta, organdy, netting and shantung/satin, I am really looking forward to being able to get back to working with quilting cottons and straight seams! 2 days until the wedding!

I love getting mail from foreign lands!  Blocks arrived from Jo in Oman. Almost done with wedding sewing…just need to finish the skirt and petticoat for the flower girl’s dress…I dislike gathering…wish me luck! 8 yds. of netting ruffle gathered down to fit about 48″ or less! Wedding is in 3 days (Friday evening) Yikes!!!  Why am I on the internet rather than sewing and cleaning?

My daughter’s wedding dress.  I snapped a few pictures when she put it on to show  her sister and father.  This is the top for the reception.  For the ceremony she will have a long sleeved half-tee rather than the sleeveless.  Not the greatest pictures either.  There are about 870 3mm Swarovski crystals (clearAB) scattered throught the skirt.  The ribbon sash is silver satin.  I hope no one minds me posting this…I am really pleased...
