Sophie’s Six Chevrons
Here are my six blocks, donated for January.
For those who were wondering “what was she thinking” when she chose these colors … it all started when I was playing with colored pencils and paper, capturing my ideas for the blocks this year, drawing them (in black and white), then making paper “virtual blocks,” coloring them in with colored pencils and moving them around to see how one might design a quilt from this year’s lotto blocks. I ended up with three blocks–from a future month, or I’d take a photo and show you–that I had randomly colored with gray, purple and brown … and I thought, I LIKE this.
In the next couple days, I’ll be asking for your input on color combinations for this year. I know myself well enough to know that I can get stuck in a rut when it comes to color combinations and I’d really love to hear your ideas.
Is there a theme this year?
I’ve been following even though I haven’t participated, and this year one of my goals is to make time for things that make me happy, regardless of what life throws at me. Since I ADORE HST’s and LOVE these colors, I pulled fabric, washed it and now it’s sitting at my sewing table, waiting for today’s 15 minutes.
