Here’s my first cactus block for donation. I found that the pattern instructions for the background rectangles were too small. I had to make them 2.5 x 4.5 vs what the pattern called for-2 x 3.5 then everything went together well. With five week old twins in the house my other donation blocks will come straggling in over the month as I get a spare hour to work on them....

My three blue dishes mailed to Kathie today. Will take 10-14 days. Post office insisted it was a small parcel and not a letter, said “they” are checking! When asking if “they” were our postal service or the US, turns out it’s the local clearing deport making sure the clerks charge correctly. Not sure if the extra postage this time was it went as a parcel or because our postal rates went up on 1 April, but it still costs about the same as a fat quarter! Received Dutchman’s Puzzle blocks from Teresa in Texas on the 31st. One more to go and I can get started! They are going to be such a bright, happy quilt that even the waiting is fun. Passing by sometimes, I just sort through the pile, admiring all the fabrics and the nice straight edges, and thinking about cornerstones. Tiny pinwheels or tiny QSTs?...
