Back from a long absence.

Back from a long absence.

I haven’t been ‘playing’ for a bit ‘cuz I got all caught up in Millefiores. December’s block just seemed like a nice switch from the hand sewn precision of what I’ve been involved in. So here’s my nine for December. Merry Christmas...

BL inspired stripes quilt

BL inspired stripes quilt

In December when Sophie revealed the “stripes” block, I realized this was perfect for a jelly roll originally bought on sale at Tuesday morning that had been languishing in my sewing room.  Generous as ever, Sophie helped me resize the block.        ...

Some flimsey Stripes quilts

Some flimsey Stripes quilts

With my recent winnings of the Stripes blocks, I quickly put together a top.  I added another 3 inches of white to the blocks and then set them together with a slight offset.  I like the effect so much that I used some stash fabric to make a second quilt along the same lines.  I think both will be easily quilted with some straight line quilting, when I get the chance.  Thanks, Sophie, for a very clean, graphic block to work with. Thanks to Pat K

The final pack of blocks from my December winnings arrived today.  Thanks Pat K.  The blue and purple combination in your blocks is so soothing. Best wishes,  Kathie L in...

Second round of thank-yous for December stripes

I’d like to thank the following people for the stripe blocks that have arrived in the past few weeks.  They were from Ellen, Karen N., Maree and Sophie.   I’m waiting for only one more pack, but I haven’t let that stop me from already putting blocks together.  I hope to have something to show you soon.  This is a great scrappy quilt.  Thanks to all who...

Stripes and Duds on their way north

We had a heat wave of 32 F so I took the envelopes to the post office today. Hope you enjoy the blocks! Helen Nashville,...
