  My daughter is pretty cold-sensitive. We live in southern California, and she still remains cold much of the year. This quilt therefore has a flannel backing, and since that’s a bit heavier than a regular fabric backing, it has flannel instead of batting. (So it has 2 layers of flannel.) She’s happy to have it and now uses it when she’s cuddled up on her couch...

I finished the quilt from March’s blocks! I wanted more of a comforter with this one, so I used poly batting, tied it, flannel backing, and then to top it off I used satin blanket binding from my Grandma’s stash...

Back when many of us were working on blocks for Sophie’s quilt last year I was also looking for inspiration for a crib quilt I planned to make.   When I looked through all the past lotto blocks I really liked the Buckeye Beauty block and so I used that pattern to make this quilt. Well, I haven’t made any blocks for April yet (must really see if I have any plaids!) or mailed my March blocks (post office closed until Tuesday due to Easter bank holidays) but I did do this particular lotto-related exercise today – I FINALLY put together the modern clover blocks I won back in the dark ages of whenever it was (apparently we made them in April 2011 – not as long ago as  I thought!).  I’ve laid them out...
