Curved Rails Quilt for my Daughter
My daughter is pretty cold-sensitive. We live in southern California, and she still remains cold much of the year. This quilt therefore has a flannel backing, and since that’s a bit heavier than a regular fabric backing, it has flannel instead of batting. (So it has 2 layers of flannel.) She’s happy to have it and now uses it when she’s cuddled up on her couch...

Here’s a photo of a lap quilt I made with some of the African Violet blocks I won earlier in the year. I made the quilt for my dear sister-in-law, who’s currently in the middle of chemotherapy and needs to rest at home quite a bit as a result of the treatments. I think she’s really going to love it! I had a lot of wonderful blocks left over, so I included some of them on the back of the quilt, along with some flowery...

I finished the quilt from March’s blocks! I wanted more of a comforter with this one, so I used poly batting, tied it, flannel backing, and then to top it off I used satin blanket binding from my Grandma’s stash...

Back when many of us were working on blocks for Sophie’s quilt last year I was also looking for inspiration for a crib quilt I planned to make. When I looked through all the past lotto blocks I really liked the Buckeye Beauty block and so I used that pattern to make this quilt. I really like having all the past lotto blocks and patterns available as a reference. Thanks...

Here is the quilt I’m making from the scrappy trips blocks I won last year. I got it basted together last month, but I don’t think the quilting will be getting done anytime soon....

Well, I haven’t made any blocks for April yet (must really see if I have any plaids!) or mailed my March blocks (post office closed until Tuesday due to Easter bank holidays) but I did do this particular lotto-related exercise today – I FINALLY put together the modern clover blocks I won back in the dark ages of whenever it was (apparently we made them in April 2011 – not as long ago as I thought!). I’ve laid them out...

Pineapple scrappy quilt
Did you see . . .
I saw this quilt on Kate’s blog yesterday . . . and hope she doesn’t mind that I’m sharing it here. I think it’s a great setting idea for anyone who wins a set of blocks this month and wants to make a bigger quilt (without making a bunch more scrappy triangles blocks) OR wants to “push” the colorway of their finished quilt in a specific direction, or just calm it down with something neutral. I made personal...

I finished my Pineapple Block Lotto quilt top today. Yippee!!! I am in love with this quilt! These blocks were won from the Block Lotto in May, 2011. You can read the full post on my blog at: http://new2quilting.blogspot.com/2012/02/may-2011-block-lotto-quilt-top.html I’m not sure if this photo will show up in the gallery yet. I will e-mail a picture of it to Sophie. I am sooooo proud of...
